Channel Freya | Mount Washington Creative Session

Freya is the Norse goddess of war, love, Volvas (Viking witches). She is also associated with sex, lust, beauty, fertility, gold, and death. She was (or is?) the wife of Odin.
When Annalise came to me saying she wanted to create a photoshoot channeling Freya, I was incredibly excited. I have Norse blood and feel a deep connection to the magic of the old runes and witches. I couldn't wait to bring Freya to life.
So we wandered into the alpine meadow, focused on grounding into the earth and harnessing our power. This was a practice in owning confidence, rage and beauty. It was a super fun shoot for me because I was able to push Annalise out of her comfort zone and into the world of power and magic that I love so much. Her usually soft images were replaced with images of power and strength. Not that there is anything wrong with softness, but this was not the time or place.
How do you feel about embracing your power? How do you feel about embracing your inner Freya and standing with confidence? Is it something that is easy for you or something you have to work at mastering?
